Liverpool Legends XI Coming To Gorey

Liverpool Legends v Gorey Celtic
Gorey Celtic FC have announced that they will be welcoming the Liverpool Legends to play at their club on Saturday 10th April, KO 4pm, in an exhibition match against a Gorey Celtic Legends team. A match both Liverpool and Gorey Celtic fans won’t want to miss!

Players including the great Alan Kennedy, Phil Neal, Rob Jones, Don Hutchinson, Gary Gillespie and Mike Marsh are just some of the names you can expect to see representing the Liverpool Legends.

Thomas Fitzpatrick, Chairman, Gorey Celtic FC: “On behalf of Gorey Celtic Football Club, we are delighted to welcome Liverpool Legends to Gorey. We are very proud to be hosting this fixture, as it is the first time that the Legends team has appeared in the South East. It will give football supporters the chance to see their heroes of yesterday, as a club we will be working overtime to ensure that this occasion will be remembered for a long time.”

Alan Kennedy commented: “It will be great to come along to Wexford this April, Liverpool FC have always had a huge support in Ireland and we always enjoyed playing there. Myself and the rest of the lads are looking forward to the trip and we hope the Liverpool fans will come out for the day to support us!”

Legends XI organisers commented, “These Legends games are always such a fun day out for everyone to enjoy. The games we organise are friendly’s but we always find that the competitive streak comes out in the players as soon as they step foot on the pitch. They may be a bit older but they haven’t lost their drive for winning or skill with the ball, it’s just remarkable to watch. Any fan would enjoy a day like this!”

Tickets will be on sale from Monday 15th February and can be purchased from the reception of the Amber Springs Hotel and Spa in Gorey. A range of tickets will be on sale, including a special limited ticket giving fans the opportunity to meet their legends and attend a pre match lunch or evening gala dinner!
