Darndale FC Confirm John Aldridge Match In April

Darndale FC have announced that they will be hosting a Legends XI exhibition match featuring a John Aldridge Legends XI team who will come up against a Darndale FC side on Sunday 3rd April at Morton Stadium, Fingal, KO 2pm.

Darndale FC chairman Tommy Daly commented, “On behalf of Darndale FC I take great pleasure in welcoming the John Aldridge XI to Morton Stadium, Fingal. We are one of the smallest clubs in Ireland to host a Legends event and we see this as a fantastic opportunity for both our club and the surrounding community. We look forward to a huge show of support from the local community and beyond to watch the Legends stars in action on Sunday 3rd April!”

John Aldridge has put together a legends side of footballing greats, including European Cup winners Alan Kennedy & Phil Neal, Manchester United Legend Clayton Blackmore. With players from Liverpool, Manchester United and Irish internationals this a game for every football fan will enjoy!

Irish Autism Action commented, “We are very pleased to be in partnership with Darndale FC, and we are really looking forward to the entire event. We express sincere thanks to Tommy and his backroom team in Darndale FC for their very enthusiastic approach to this event. This promises to be a very special day, and we would encourage everybody to take the opportunity in coming out to support the event and not miss their chance of this wonderful experience of meeting the true legends of the game of football. John Aldridge commented, “Myself and the rest of the lads on the team are really happy to be involved in this event, the work Irish Autism does is amazing and the charity need our support. We hope that the fans will agree and come out on 3rd April and support us in raising some money on the day!”

Legends XI said, “Not only is this match a fundraising day for Irish Autism, but it will be a great day out for any fan of the game! The games we organise are friendly’s but we always find that the competitive streak comes out in the players as soon as they step foot on the pitch. The Legends stars may be a bit older but they haven’t lost their drive for winning or skill with the ball, it’s just remarkable to watch. Any fan would enjoy a day like this! We are delighted to be involved with Darndale FC and hope it will be a really successful event for them and the cause they are fundraising for!”
